There’s something silly to me about Bluestar x Yellowfang

It’s just “yeah Firestar’s moms should date”

Old women with tragic backstories and the very orange boy they separately adopted

#it's a great ship I love it #listen you can claim Bluestar wasn't a maternal figure to Firestar & that she was just his mentor but you can't do that with Yellowfang #She canonically tells Fireheart that she wishes he was her son #That's not a thing left up to reader interpretation or anything. The direct quote (from Rising Storm) is #''I wished you'd been my son but I could not have borne a cat like you.''#(there's more to the quote but I can't fit all of it in the character limit of the tags)#(or technically I could but it would have to be several tags and I don't feel like doing that)#she also says ''I only regret that I will miss watching you become what Starclan has destined you to be.'' to him in that same bit of dialo #that is his mom. on a realer note i do think people forget that a huge part of the destiel equation is that cas won’t stay. like yeah we focus a lot on the fact that dean won’t ask him to, but cas never sticking around is a huge factor there

#i feel like people make the arc where dean asks cas to leave the bunker be the root of this problem when it was canonically happening way #before that happened #idk i also love the fact thag destiel is built on the foundation of dean wanting someone to stay with him and #cas wanting someone to ask him to stay #like it’s truly two ships passing in the night #i love a tragedy #but i think ppl lean too far into the assumption that cas would have stayed if asked #rather than dean would have asked if cas had shown that he was willing to stay #idk i think they’re both equally fucked up and it makes for great fanfiction #dean winchester #castiel #destiel #destiel dynamics #destiel studies #supernatural

no but the thing is, when the hero falls in love with the villain she is falling in love with the darkest parts of herself. she is owning her shadow and the owning makes her stronger. it is not about whether a ship is toxic or romanticising abuse because it’s not about two individuals. the struggle is not one between two people, just like the love is not between two people. when the hero falls in love with the villain she is loving herself. when she loves herself she is stronger, better, able to transform darkness instead of running from it. at the moment of loving, a person changes. the loved changes. and the love of the villain changes the hero. it’s all about this, don’t you see?
